I can't believe it , can anyone tell me if it's true!
No wonder I haven't been able to find them if it is.

Re: Soya Beans
If people get really desperate I might look at sending some. Things in the EU are more lax than NZ, but not sure.Bluebell wrote: Hi Adekun
Where did you buy these from ??
Thanks

These are a standard item in the local shops and work out about £1.20 a pack. I've just resown some as only a couple came up. May/June time is ideal here. This might not be a good variety to try in the UK?

Re: Soya Beans
So, a couple of months on, how are people's soy beans doing? I'm interested because I've never grown them before, or known anyone who has.
Ours are about 50cm high, flowering and a few of them have 2-4 little hairy bean pods on them, so I'm hopeful we'll get a small crop this year (all I've found on the web so far is people saying their crop failed last year!)

Re: Soya Beans
To bump an old thread
I's asked about quinoa recipes in the recipe section and edamame were mentioned,
which got me to thinking about growing them
which led me here
Did anyone manage this successfully in the UK??? Plenty of people seemed to try......ta muchly

Re: Soya Beans
Well we got a crop, but they weren't hugely productive (about 10 or so small pods per plant). Might have been to do with the godawful summer we had last year though.
There's a new 'UK-friendly' strain available this year (last year we grew Ustie) so we're going to give it one more try.
