Salutations Selfsifficientish users! I could use some help identifying a fungal growth I recently stumbled upon, I've tried to find out it's ID myself but to no avail so I'm here! : )

It may help to know that this was found in North Western America on an old decaying stump and the one with darker coloration was found at the foot of a tree in relative shade.
Thanks in advance and I wish you all a great day! :D

Hi ceebzervon and welcome to Ish.

It looks like our mushroom bods aren't around. I hope you managed to get some ID.

  translation problem

Sorry about that. Bod is a English colloquialism for person.

What was that quote about the US and UK being separated by a common language?

GreenAura: "Two nations divided by a common language" is it I think, and Doofaloofa! Mushroom bodies... need the etymology on that one, I wonder how it got named that?

I would say they are some kind of bracket fungus, but having a mycologist friend, he would tell me to take much clearer photographs, put them on some paper and photograph from different angles etc, the second picture is very blurred. Oh and Doofa IS a mushroom body

Thanks for the info Diggernotdreamer, I won't be able to get photos of it anymore so I guess this one will stay a mystery! But thanks for the help! I'll be marking this one as solved. : )

And Doofaloofa, I would agree, I'm sure you're as graceful and elegant as the breeze itself.
