Seeing the first green "noses" of the daffs poke through, and I just have

Tasting the first peas of the year

Pulling on my gardening boots and digging for 1/2 an hour WITHOUT my dodgy knee hurting! yay!

Being able to share these simple pleasures with like-minded ISH folk :hugish:

Home made bread, fresh from the oven, still warm and buttery - mmmmmm! And I just had some

That has to be one of the best things ever!......closely followed by walking in the forest(just down the road) at first light, watching the deer. Looking at the night-sky thro' the telescope, & that first cup of tea in the morning!
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

There is a walk I take with the dog sometimes that goes across some fairly ordinary countryside but then dips into a narrow lane with high hedges where there are bee hives in the meadows. Then I go through some seriously ancient woodland, past some standing stones and the shrine to a little known saint named Gaoust who lived as a hermit near this village and I get a fine view of the village before heading down another little lane to home.

And I've never met anyone on this walk, so I imagine that when I'm on it I've stepped out of the world and I have nothing at all to worry about and no-one to whom I need give consequence.

Aside from the uplift that I get from my family, this walk does more for my morale than anything else.

The thing that uplifts me most is making my little one laugh! I can't help but laugh with him :sunny:
Other things... fresh baked bread, going for walks in the fresh air, surprise hugs from the other half (doesn't happen enough!), new recipes turning out nice (doesn't happen enough!).

Wednesday afternoons - it's my longest day at work but I know that Thursday is my day off and it's when my OH and I have our weekly "date" - something as simple as a hot choc and a bun in a local cafe - but it's wonderful! :hugish:

Such nice things in all these posts!

Drinking a glass of milk.

Getting things put away and having space.

Giving things to someone who really appreciates the giving and the things.
