Chain letters

Remember the TV quiz game with ( I think) Lenny Bennet.
For those of you who don't know, or those of you who are too young to remember.
We start with a word eg. STAR, the next person then has to make a new word, my either taking a letter away ( SAT ) or by adding a new letter ( START ).
It's up to the individual, whatever you need to do to make a new word.
But you can only do one thing. eg, add one letter, take one letter away, and yes, swap one letter.

ok, i'll start with..

Fish.
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?

ok, so what now? Do we add or take away? Or both?

That would be

ire - boring, we've already had ires
tire - not sure if this is allowed

Does my game playing failure mean I'm socialy inadequate????

Hmm, you have me stumped -

tyler???

She's an Asian, half burmese, half I forget what else. She did win a couple of rosettes when she was a kitten but then she stopped growing and is now too small to show (I dabbled with showing but it isn't really my scene) - just 3Kg, a little dot really. She has quite a short coat and feels the cold a bit so she's a real snuggle puss.
