I'm going nowhere! Not deep snow, although that's a covering on the already frozen loch, but mighty cold out there. I've got woolly socks on (over my thick tights) and that's in the house. :shaking:

Nice view,though!

I'm wearing so many layers... Don't even want to think about it. Barely gets up to 11 degree in the one room in my house that I have the heater on in. Not working costs a lot in electricity!

On Monday, we got snowed in with about 30-40 cm of snow. We spent all day shovelling and running the snow-blower. And that's not even counting the driveway. Normally, I do it with the snow-blower; it takes four passes to do the full width, and it is 250 m long. But, with it being as deep as it was, I hired a local guy to come and plow it out.

Not counting the driveway, I had to clear the back deck so we could get out, part of the back yard so the dog could pee, paths to the outbuildings, and paths for the cats to get around. And then I had to go up a ladder with the roof rake and pull down the snow on the skylights before it formed ice dams. And then shovel the snow I brought down.

Since then, it has been cold. Our high temperature today was -5 C. It is supposed to go down to -12 overnight, with a wind chill of -20.

You certainly get plenty of exercise! My cat stays indoors at the moment...
I'm waiting to see if the buses are running normally this morning - I think they should do, at least there's not been more snow overnight here.

The local Facebook is following the tractor in town up hill. One of the local farmers has the contract to clear and grit the estates. Being on a north facing hill the town appreciates Tony and his big green tractor. He was defeated on Wednesday with the snow coming down behind him as fast as he cleared but with the snow drawing breath yesterday he seems to be keeping the gritting going and the town running.

The sun shines, the breeze is only a zephyr and I went for a walk all the way round the block to the local shop on me crutches to practice and to buy a can of coke. For the fresh air and exercise you understand. And to obey the physio who says to practice with the crutches.

Well done, Flo. I've heard they're quite good for tripping up those who can't do social distancing too.

All gone here. It looked nice while it lasted, but I must admit I prefer to be able to walk about without fear of slipping.

Now - spring can come along!

Snowdrops out in full force. Cat stays outside again all day, and sometimes all night.

Yes, it's probably only for the well-practiced.

Well the snow has given way to rain here but at least it’s not so cold. I don’t do cold well.

I usually prefer the cold, but there's a limit... And my little mobile heater has developed some very worrying noises, so is out of action. Must get a new one. Even without that, temperature in the bedroom *where I spend most of my time) is now 13 degree C, which is positively balmy compared to the less than 12 I used to get on the cold days with the heater running full blast!
