Is that the Honeyberry that was advertised a lot recently ?
I looked into those and saw that they take many years to start producing a crop, so didn't bother.

It seems that I'm growing Stevia again !!
I grew some last year and when I had harvested them I chucked a couple of pots outside. They died back and have been apparently dead for 7 months, but this morning I spotted that I have 2 very healthy looking plants.
It seems they're a bit of a job to kill.

I think it is more like a shrub than a normal honeysuckle so probably cuttings

Planted multiplying onions in March. Good spring onion taste and they just keep multiplying (good job really or they'd be called something else), hopefully won't have to buy spring onion seed again.

I grew purple potatoes this year for the first time & I have got to say they were lovely

I grew some ginger this year for the first time. I'm very pleased with it, although next year I shall grow it in a bigger pot.
It's growing in a softish plastic pot, the sort you buy plants in and are suppose to chuck away, you can see how the roots are distorting the side of the pot.

Tipped out this is what was causing the distortion, a nice 3/4 lb ginger root.
A 2" piece has already been added to the lemon and ginger marmalade I'm making and another small piece is destined for the seafood pasta I will be making for tonight's dinner. The roots have a very tender skin, not like the fibrous roots in the shops, but just like freshly dug new potatoes.

That is brilliant Tony, I am now inspired to grow some, now we have a house with windowsills I can have a go, did get some to sprout, but I managed to kill it when I put it outside in my potting shed to pot on and forgot to bring it back in. I did notice some of the leaves went very brown, but it looks from your like that is normal

I also had a ginger adventure this season

Planted a couple of bits that were sprouting when we got the tunnel up

They died

Time goes by and I have moved on, and I move the avacado pot and ther underneath is a blanched ginger stem

I put a gallon water bottle base over it and it has continued, albeit slowly, to grow

Yours looks great Tony, getting self sufficient in ginger seems do able

When I pulled my ginger apart I discovered the original tuber I planted last winter. It is still firm, has roots and also 2 healthy looking buds, so I have planted it up and hope that it grows away quickly for next year's harvest.
