Yes, we need to listen to what kids are saying.

But does anyone else hate (read get angry at) advertisements, that have adverts with kid s displaying really aggressive behaviour, that adults pretend to be terrified by. Always to do with spurious stuff ?

But most frustrating is that it normalises dysfunctional aggressive behaviour.

ah advertising.

its the system by which we are all controlled because that is its buisness. to control the mind,. to make us do things we may not other wise do.

the simple fact is that "teengage agnst" is simpy used to ignore the arguments. or to highlight a non issue.
it is quite simply a case of mind control. divide and concourthe masses through the smallest of differences to prevent them jinng up and saying well we are all equaly f*** over lets owkr together.

there is not a single thing i read in any media format which is not ultimatly mind control. we are the few who see it yet are discredited instantly as some sort of paranoic crazy when the sad truth is we actualy see the truth and wont be controlled

so yes i hate it as well.

Except Honda ads generally (I've got that one shot one on DVD! ).

Oh and the dancing Berrocco ads with the bald bloke dancing on a treadmill and the fat loggers, love them. The trouble is I still don't know what the product is

OK, I'll give you the Berocca ads... It's a high-strength soluble multivitamin and mineral supplement, works wonders for a hangover.

The advert that was uppermost in my mind was the one where a little ( about 4 years) is banging her fists on the table and her mum and dad are looking anxiously at each other whilst this little girl shrieks her demands.
I don't know what it is advertising, I just dislike the fact that young new parents may be getting the message that this out of control enraged behaviour is normal and to be pandered to.

My initial point was :- It is fairly well accepted that children do go through this stage in their young life ( the terrible twos) and it is a hard and frustrating lesson for them to learn to learn that actually "no" they don't rule but they will stop these displays when they realise that that behaviour does not get a response.
Which is exactly what this advert was doing ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrr

Naturally. They're in it to make money, not raise children, and they're certainly not above using children to manipulate their parents. The technical term in the industry is "pester power"... Why do you think insurance companies have started giving away soft toys? It's not like any reasonable adult is going to base their choice of insurance provider on the promise of a free toy, is it? At least, I should bloody hope not...

The dream of advertisers is to turn us all into two-year-olds. Bill Hicks was right about them.

The haribo adverts have been reversing the roles of children and adults for years now, I remember one about 6 or more years ago that had the kid talking on the phone playing the mum while the real mum and dad were fighting over sweets in the sitting room and the little girl threatens to send them both to bed with no more sweets for either of them. :?

Also the Simpsons. I can not believe that I used to want to watch that when I was younger! I saw part of an episode the other day and that program basically teaches children that it is ok and normal for father figures to be lazy, irresponsible, over-indulgent and just plain stupid while the rest of the family, especially the mother, pander to his idiocy and make no effort at all to live better lives or encourage their son at school, teach him better behaviour, let their kids run riot and actively make fun of any activity that could be considered good or healthy ie: joining boy scouts, eating more vegetables etc. I hate that that show is viewed as great by so many yet a genuinely good show like Tom&Jerry (and Firefly for adults) are banned because they send out the "wrong message" to the audience. :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

This is why I do not watch television!
Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.
