Birmingham Pride

Post: # 233189Post sleepyowl »

First of is anyone from here coming to Birmingham Pride this year?

I'm being a compeer on the Community Stage this year, as well as splitting my time between 2 stalls (LGBT Interfaith Network on the Saturday & The Lavender Movement [my guerrilla gardening group] on the Sunday), I'm on the Pride March & have organised a game of Pride bingo for a laugh, if I finish work early enough will also be taking part in a memorial tree blessing, so busy busy, but if you see me say hello.

I would love to, but since I married a man the community I was a member of sees me as somewhat of a traitor.................. *ahem* I just fell in love with a person, not an appendage lol.

You can't help who you fall in love with, you are not a traitor, certainly not in my eyes, people need to be more tolerant, you'd have only been a traitor if you let the one you loved get away just because of what other people think. Be proud of what you are & sod the rest.

So not fair. :(

I used to steward at the Blackpool Pride & we always had such a fantastic time, making new friends every year. Oh, and then there was the 'after party' at Funny Girls as well!

Sadly, Prides really haven't caught on as far 'west & country' where we are & although they have a Pride day in Galway City, it's not been a community that we've even managed to find, let alone get involved in!

Have a great day Sleepyowl - it sounds like you are going to be VERY busy indeed!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

It was incredibly busy, I conducted my first handfasting (Pagan wedding) at Pride this year, as well as line danced with am olive tree.
