unfortunatly the tree died due to the age and storm damage , but what a lovely memorial to the majestic tree, i remember how tall it was it was'nt far off 80ft .

That's a shame but what a great thing to do to what is remaining. Much better than an old stump. I suppose eventually it will rot though!

the green man watches over all our veg plots but he doesnt take sides so he watches over the aphids and catterpillars too so we have to tilt the balance of nature a bit in our favour at times.we are all part of the web of life so must rub along together. bit hard to feel kinship with slugs and cabbage whites though. :lol:
