Woodsmoke now - why does my wood burner need cleaning every 2 months . It gets done twice in a burning season anyway but it's such a pain when it starts to smoke and the smell pervades the whole house.

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

But damn it how happy we'll be!

Oregano, or pizza, as a visiting cousin pointed out (we've a 6ftx6ft patch of the stuff growing by the side of the kitchen).

Re: What does your home smell of?
Today my house smells lovely, I've been making perfume oil with a mixture of juniper, Orange, myrrh, cedarwood, sandalwood and frankinsense oils. It was a bit like making a cake so I got to 'lick' the bowl out, so I spread all the remnants on me. I haven't smelt this good for a long time. no that sound so wrong but you know what I mean.
Normally our house smells of one or other of my very WINDY family not so nice.

Re: What does your home smell of?
As i bake cakes and/or make marmalade just about every day -- i am told it usually smells wonderfull. I am so used to the smell that i can rarely smell it myself.
Today i am making lemon curd so it will be smelling all lemony :)
the days to avoid are the chutney-making days -- vinegar & onions linger a long time!
