Spinoff - why did you choose your username?

As above! Unless of course you're using your real name

I chose mine because, when registering, the forum titled 'I read the news today, oh boy' got me singing Beatles songs, hence Penny Lane!

Your turn :flower:

My brother always called me Annpan, but I have a few different 'nicknames' and ids through the rest of the internet (most sites 'annpan' is already taken)

It's my name, but I don't use this name on other sites - I'm Wildgarlic on Neeps, and that's because I love wild garlic and Neeps was formed after a foraging trip with a friend (and fellow isher/Neepster), and on Flickr I'm The Neepster... because we call the members of Neeps Neepsters, rather like Ishers for Selfsufficientish members.

My mum called me loobyloo when I was little and I picked it up again recently as a forum name on other sites. I've found that its not often taken so will use it when I can.
My real name's Lucille which isn't often taken either but loobyloo's a bit more fun.

I once saw the user name 'Stripy Socks' and always coveted it but it never seemed right just to take someone else's user name so I stuck 'Pixie' in there as I love all things mythical and mystical and I love Pixies and Fairies etc...

I sometimes go by the name Pearlescent on other places that's because of my love for shiiiiiiiiny things and I had just bought a rather stunning pot of Pale Blue Pearlescent Acrylic which I promptly painted anything I could get my hands on with

Yes, I'm aware that I am a bit... 'odd' so you can take that look of your face right now

Hmm...well...i don't rightly remember.

I like fairies, and my nickname is Fee, so the fee fairy just happened.

This quote pretty much explains it. I've been lucky enough to get the name "Mainer in Exile" on quite a few sites.
"Mainiacs away from Maine are truly displaced persons, only half alive, only half aware of their immediate surroundings. Their inner attention is always preoccupied and pre-empted by the tiny pinpoint on the face of the globe called Down East. They try to live not in such a manner that they will eventually be welcomed into Paradise, but only so that someday they can go home to Maine."

Um, I am Bongo and my hubby is Masco....

They are family nicknames (NOT real names) coined by our (then 3 year old) godson

There is a long and vaguely funny story behind them, especially since my real name isn't anything like Bongo...

Sadly, my hubby and I are more likely to call each other by our nicknames than our real names!

I go by 2 other screen names generally online, not sure why I changed to come on Ish?

I stole mine from my OH. It's the abreviated name of a computer program he wrote called My Local Incident Manager. And it's been his user name for other stuff for years. It's quite unusual so it doesn't tend to be taken.

I was nicknamed hedgewitch by my friends WAY back when Rae Beth's book was first released and they named me as such because I am always grubbing about in hedgerows looking for things to make into lotions and potions.
I've shortened it on numerous other forums to just hedge...and on some forums where the name treehugger hasn't been taken then I choose that one. Treehugger's my favourite and also a nickname given me by my friends - bet ya can't guess why??!!

Ellendra Nauriel is the name of the character I played in a live-action role-playing group. I was an elven ranger, and the character was so me that the rest of the group decided that I was not a human pretending to be an elf, I was an elf pretending to be a human pretending to be an elf.
