ish poetry

Post: # 283238Post littlemissrose »

I desided to start writing poetry again. And to write about every day things that I do, be it gardening, cleaning, the weather, etc. So I'm going to post my poems here and hope you'll all enjoy them and post your own poems here.

So this morning I was dusting.

Dust

Like a cloud
A layer
Sticky
A cloth
With one whipe
Shake out
Clean

I hope I translated it right. I really liked to play with the number of words in each sentence. I hope you enjoyed it too. Let me know what you think. And please post some poetry yourself.

I wrote this one last year about the chalk hills in Wiltshire...

The wind on down, black crow swept low
Through beach wood crown, in blackthorn sloe
Past shrine drunk dry through urban fill
The hawks now cry, but time stood still.

O’er inky sward gone to ashen shroud,
Along tracks packed hard by travellers feet,
Elm bones rattle hard ‘gainst threatening cloud,
Through pagan soul ‘long Saracen street,

A larks sweet din; from flinty fields
The wind subsides - nostalgia yields

The track is good, the chalk is bright.
The ancient yew, the poppies red.
All revealed: all clear, all light.
The journey starts where the path has led.

The wind is blowing
It's bloody cold
now my hands are wringing
why do I feel so old
shall I go outside and do my chores
or drink more tea, I'm very bold (Irish use that word for naughty)
Ah feck it! the rain is coming again,
It's in for days I'm told.

And that is why I never got any prizes for poetry at school :)

Life is like a puzzle
Except all the pieces fit
Every change you make
The picture changes
And one thing is true
There is no solving
The puzzle of life

I was working on a puzzle this afternoon. A beautiful picture but a hell of a job to make. Thousands of pieces and only one fits. So unlike life. But the endproduct will be a perfect picture. Because if there is only one way, that way is perfection.

Not my finest work but I am not perfect so can't expect perfection every time. :dontknow:

Boom boom boom boom,

Earthly womb of drum lune,

Boom bam bam - Boom bam bam,

Tacky nebulous shit of a new age sham man.

Just a rhym about personal taste in drumming :flower: starting to get into the solstice vibe now...not long now

Ode to my chrismastree

Green, silver and lights
Just stop and look
A moment of peace
A feeling of quiet joy and contentment
Thinking how it used to be in the past
And how it always will be

I really like my chrismastree, I always have :santa:

Only you and the paper
Emptiness
Put down your lines and write
Every stroke has meaning
The letters telling
The message on paper

Been improving my handwriting. Maybe I'll even try calligraphy. Would be nice to be able to write some of my poems down.

A momentary ray of the sun
Reminds me of the fun
Of capturing a word or thought
Ignoring everything we’re taught
The creation of beauty
Is still so new to me
