Have you made something and want to show it off? This is the place for your photos or just talk about the things that you have made or would like to make. All crafts from knitting and crochet to woodwork, in fact anything that you have made!
I have made a handbag by knitting strips of old kids clothes (t-shirts and vests etc). The strips of rag knit up quite quickly which was good for me as beginner knitter. I lost heart during the project but decided to finish what I started. I lined it with an old hideous duvet cover that had been freecycled to me, the main zip and inner pocket zip were also recycled from old clothes. I am pleased with the result (no accounting for taste )and use it all the time.

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Thanks for the positive responses.
I popped into Hobbycraft a few days ago and I noticed they sell knitting yarn that looks like strips of fabric so you can get that recycled look without the effort!

Don't take this as a negative response as I do agree it looks attractive and funky as well as being good that it's made from recycled materials but can I just ask what's it like if it rains and gets wet? Maybe just the practical side of me coming out or perhaps images of knitted swim wear filling my mind
No offense taken. If it rains it gets wet and then it dries out. I have been using it a while and it is not problem. It is knitted with cottons and is washable. I'm a practical girl

Yes it is old clothes cut into strips about 1/2 - 3/4" wide but varies as it is just done by eye. I cut the hem off the T-shirt or vest and cut a continuous strip going round the shirt (almost spiral like) until I reached the arm holes. The strips don't really bend round, you can see that it is flat strips but obviously the photo quality doesn't show this. You get bits in the knit where you can see where the seams in the garments were and also labels if you don't cut them out. Each section of colour is a different garment. All the clothes were past reuse as clothing. I am saving more of the kids old colourful clothes for making something else the same way but not sure what.

That's brilliant. I am def going to have a go. I can't knit but I can crochet. For some reason I got crocheting really well but just couldn't get knitting!
No idea what I'll make or what clothes I'll use as I'm not done having babies yet but I'm sure somethign will come together!
