No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Thanks for that - I've been watching out for it.

We saw our first daffodil out yesterday!

The ones in our garden are nowhere near out yet, though - maybe it's the altitude.

Hmmm my daffs are still only just emerging, some of then have maybe done an inch . . . But then, i planted them late, the dogs dug them up and replanted according to canine aesthetic, and some had to contend with me unearthing them to check on their progress . . . The tulips are thriving tho . . . Dogs don't seem to like the taste of the bulbs . . .

I'm back home after 2 weeks away and it's looking very spring like here with daffies, forsythia and japonica all flowering. My couple of flowers on the mimosa (badly frosted two years in a row) are out. We are on a par with southern England although my mother was complaining about how late everything is whilst here it is extremely early! :flower:

I have had ladybirds in my garden all winter - every time I try to tidy up in the flower beds I find them in amongst the leaves and things. I've never seen them before in winter but I am really pleased they have stayed here cos I might have some help with the broad bean aphids this year. :thumbright:

It was truely a spring day here yesterday. Sun out and warm.

This week loads of frogspawn appeared. Everything in the garden is coming alive. We too have loads of ladybirds and have noticed quite a few bees around.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday MMM, noticed how you went to Weymouth, makes me very homesick.

Yeah had a great time although by about day 4 I wanted to go home!!! We have a different lifestyle when we are in England - loads of shopping and eating out and enjoying all those consumerist things that we don't do (or don't have) here very much - so it is very much crammed into a short space of time. I am sure those who have not visited us here in France must think we are complete junk eating shopaholics but it's not true, honest!

Have you been here, just outside Weymouth going east? We stumbled upon it looking for a place to eat - it's right by the coast on all the coastal footpaths and the food was lovely. It must be buzzing in the summer by the amount of tables outside and was beautiful and the scampi & chips ab fab!

How odd, I resized to normal 700 pixels wide and it's not showing photo....... :dontknow:

Haven't been there for years but yes we used to go there quite regularly and like you say packed in the summer so would have been more an off season visit for us.

I know what you mean about spending more in a place like Weymouth when we go there we probably do more eating out and going to the pub than we do all year here. Still won't put us off going back there when we retire properly though as I am a Weymouth girl through and through.
