In hushed voice: I just grow spuds found chitted in the bottom of the veg rack.

Well yes, I grow some from saved seed, especially my Charlottes. But if I fancy trying a different variety it will be a problem.
Just another restriction imposed on me because of something I was denied a vote on.

The Roosters did particularly well.

Re: Brexit
It's not just seeds .....
Lot of good compost came over from Eire last year. The piles in the local garden centre are well down. Who knows what we shall get for our tubs next year. And yes I do grow quite a bit in tubs to make use of the concrete space.

Re: Brexit
At the start of lockdown we'd just bought the greenhouse and were nearly ready to pot on the tomatoes. We had no means of buying any compost locally so got a ton (literally) online. OH didn't inform me until after it arrived that it was peat-based, from Ireland. I was a bit cross!
Fortunately we had lots of home made compost so we've been able to mix it and have loads left for next year.

Re: Brexit
Now no shouting at the husband as he probably picked the best of a bad bunch at a sensible price. The recycled, environmentally friendly, no peat option locally is twice the price of what he bought.

Re: Brexit
It is, indeed, very nice compost - and at least we've got enough to last a while, as well continuing to make our own.
As for best of a bad bunch, I think it was the only option - even then the courier mucked us about (pun intended) as he'd misread the order as 5 bags (probably cheaper to refund than transport up here) not 50. The delayed order arrived quite quickly when we put him straight.

Re: Brexit
My friend gave me two bags of wool-based compost for my birthday last year - very nice stuff.
