101 things we can do without

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

i just hate them. fresh ones are more bareable than dried.. but I really really dislike them - and , unfortunately, there are not many foods I really dislike - so it makes me even more passionate

AND its amazing how often these little blighters turn up - I mean I also really detest tripe - but no one offers yuou a nice slice of pork and forgets to mention its stuffed with tripe! - they get sneaked into all sorts of casseroles and puddings and the tast is distinctive the texture too.. y

crime against humanity

and I figured.. if Martin was allowed to say we can do without swimsuits.. (an opinion I suspect is more to do with looking than wearing!!) then I could have apricots

Well in that case

135. Garlic

I am allergic too it, but I dare say most people on here couldn't live without it.

and also...

136. Penecillin

Very seriously allergic too so really have a better chance of living without it  (again though this might be an unpopular choice :? )

Oh you can't have garlic, how can that be a self-sufficientish overall hate. Its good for you (providing you are not allergic to it), easy to grow and store and I couldn't live without it!! I give it to my horse to keep the flies off and keep his breathing healthy, and eat it myself to ward off vampires and nosy neighbours!! No not really Betty and Alan are lovely.
