Easter

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Easter

As Easter is getting close here's a batch of Hot Cross buns, fresh out of the oven.
No crosses though as I'm an atheist.

Lovely, none for me though, thanks. Diet prohibits them - this year. I don't suppose they'll save so I'll have some of next years batch.

Not a chance
These are sugar free(ish) and will be polished off by Easter Monday.

If you called them simply hot buns, you could eat them whenever you fancied. ;-)

I didn't even know that Hot Cross Buns were associated with Good Friday, and the Crucifixion. I knew they were a seasonal food, and used to enjoy eating them. I don't eat them anymore as all the store bought ones have palm oil in. Will have to bake my own in future. Good excuse to get a bread maker perhaps...!?
