Place an aluminum tray with petrol in it to defeat terrorists that attack your kitchen

Great for defrosting in a hurry

Place socks and pants in for 30 seconds for a warm winter start. Clean preferably

Setting the kitchen on fire. (Well, fortunately not successfully. I had the baked potatoes in too long... That was at a hotel I worked at!)

I don't think MWs are any quicker at making porridge than I am without one - soak oats in cold water overnight, bring to boil (just) in the morning. Or just pour on boiling water and leave for a few minutes.

I don't like them - never have and never will. Don't have room for one in my kitchen, anyway.
And yes, I admit, they are handy for some things.

Nah sorry OJ, I agree with Ina, microwave porridge is all bitty and raw.
THE best way to make porridge is bring to the boil the night before and then plonk on the dying wood burner. Next morning reheat and you have the smoothest porridge you ever tasted. Revamped haybox method.

Hmm I'm sure you're right it's just that your method is predicated upon some degree of sobriety late in the eventide..(so I won't be trying it.)

I have scrambled eggs 6 days a week and the microwave is the best way I have found so far for making them first thing in the morning.

Apart from that I never use it
