How did that recipe turn out? The last time I tried to make crumpets it was an unmitigated disaster the recipe sounds different tyo the one I had and if it turned out well I would love to have a go!!

With regard to porridge I have to say i'm a lucky girl, I have a rayburn and there's nothing quite like porridge made on a rayburn!! I obviously don't have the willpower of some, I just have to make it with milk and sugar

Porridge made on the stove with milk & topped with demerara in cold weather. Muesli soaked in milk & yoghurt overnight & topped with fruit in warm weather.

Weekend is often 'breakfast baklava' - my boyfriend's invention - toasted wholemeal pitta bread with crunchy peanut butter & honey inside. Yum.

All time favourite would be Eggs Benedict - never made it myself, but love it when I am eating out for breakfast!

I think porridge is wonderful; I love the idea of a hot bowl of goodness to start off the day. Sadly I just can't handle the texture. Eating it reminds me of sclooping out wiggly watery slimey bits from the kitchen plug hole. No thanks.

I'll make it for my man in the morning and am happy that he likes it but for me it's got to be crunchy - I like puffed rice with honey and milk or toast with butter and marmite. Yum

Weekends I don't really mind what we have for breakfast as long as it's 2 poached eggs on very well buttered toast. heehee!

I can't believe that there are so many people who actually eat breakfast. How do you do anything afterwards? It takes me about 2 hours to digest a meal so if I eat breakfast I have no energy to do anything afterwards so my morning would be a complete waste of space.

I am brimming with energy in the morning on no food, with food and I'm a sluggish mess. If I had to dig or do anything energetic on top of food I'd probably throw up! I'd probably more likely lie down in a corner of the veg patch and fall asleep as eating tends to make me sleepy!

Before my op, I was a no brekkie girl - just a coffee & a ciggy...... and I would quite often go until dinner before eating.

After my op, it's breakfast almost straight away when I get up - not a huge one, and at the moment, it's usually dry cornflakes... and again for lunch... and for dinner... well you get the drift

I can't make the most of bed and breakfasts as if I eat the lovely breakfasts on offer I can't do any touristy stuff afterwards, just want to go back to bed and lie down!

...But I can very very rarely be arsed baking bread first thing, it is never soft and crusty and white but usually rye and dwarf bread-like in consistancy, and I usually over or under do the egg

What is dwarf bread?

I like a fry-up, so does the BF (not the breakfast!). But I don't usually have time to eat in the mornings, since I have to get the kids (not mine!) up and ready. If I'm lucky, I can make a cup of tea while they eat their cereal and snarf it up sharpish while they brush their teeth.

I'm definitely more SusieGee than MMM. I have to eat first thing before I can do anything else. During the week, to save time, I jump in the shower, do my make up and get dressed before breakfast but I couldn't even do that if I didn't have a glass of juice by my bed to drink when I wake up.

Weekday breakfast is an apple sliced up, four spoons of porridge oats, some dried fruit and chopped nuts (I make my own mix) in a large bowl with some water from the kettle (from making my tea) and microwaved for a minute and a half.

Serve with vanilla flavoured yogurt.

Half a baguette cut length ways and toasted on both sides. Grate a big ripe tomato into a dish (not the skin, just the flesh) sprinkling of salt, good drizzle of olive oil all mixed up and spooned onto toasted baguette.
