They're all on SW facing windowsills, Flo. We started them roughly the 1st week in Feb - some in the hydroponics unit and the rest in heated propagators. They do seem to have come on quite quickly this year but unfortunately I never remember to log everything, like Odsox does, so that's guesswork really.

We've given our polytunnel to our neighbours, we had such poor returns from it, so windowsills it is. Maybe I should change my picture to a windowsill

Summer has left the area at the moment. It's a chill north wind and little sun.

It was snowing here, yesterday and although a very light wind, it's coming from the North and is mighty nippy - we've got the boiler lit. It's the first time I've been warm in about 3 days!

We had a frost on the lawn under the hedge this morning, a FROST, DOWN HERE in MAY!
We rarely get a grass frost during winter, and most years we don't get one at all, so it is most definitely not cricket. I blame those New Zealand forecasters who took over the BBC weather from the UK Met Office

I will have to wait until later in the day to see if my potatoes are OK, and the tomatoes in my small greenhouse as the thermometer registered only 5 C overnight.

Summer is (hopefully) over here finally - temps down to high 20's C and nights down to the teens. We have lit the lounge fire a couple of nights week; more because we could than actually needing it.
115 mm rain over the last week but it seems to have turned the ground mouldy; there is this strange green stuff growing on it.

And we are still in single figures here... Crazy.

Definitely a North Easterly wind here - very nippy. I lay in bed this morning watching the clouds scud from rt to left. They should be going the other way, or preferably not be there or moving at all.

At least there are big patches of blue today, it's been grey, like winter, for the past three days.

I'm just the opposite, I love it when the wind is in the north east. It means all the weather has to travel down the whole of Scotland and then down the whole of Ireland, by which time there are no clouds at all.
The last few days have been unbroken blue skies, hence the ground frost yesterday.

All change to today, wind's in the south and rain on it's way.

I think it's Maggie who gets most of the clouds - and rain!

I just hope the weather is reasonable at the weekend. Must get lots of work done in the garden. If I can find the energy somewhere... :?

It might be that the rain stops today. Mind you - it has supposed to be wet all week and yesterday was the first day it rained. And it rained properly. Still the possibility of light frost in the coming days.

Summer?

We had that rain too, 24 hours of it from mid-day Tuesday, although we didn't get much.
Back to our wall to wall sunshine as the wind has returned to the north. :sunny:

I hadn't noticed it leave that direction! Sunny, but still really nippy up here. We've had the CH on twice this week.

How could I.

Freezing this morning, but the sun is shining now - so here's hoping.

Summers gone - first frost this morning but only light; daytime temps dropping below 20-C. The cold, "lazy" winds are here - they are the ones that are too lazy to blow around you so go straight through
