Hello all :)

Just wondered if anyone here uses soap nuts for washing clothes? If so, what's your opinion? Any good?

Thanks

Maybe my family is dirtier than most but I found they didn;t clean things at all, there was still a sweaty smell after being washed. I was disappointed.

I have used them for a while but find they dont get stained clothes clean but on clothes that are not dirty!!! they are fine.
Also once used several times to wash clothes I keep them and when I have a reasonable amount I boil them up with water to make a liquid soap shampoo which works fine.

My fiance has bought some soap nuts on a bit of a whim. I'll update you when we've tried them. The big challenge is our smelly rollerskating gear!

Well, I've been using soap nuts for a good 6 months now, and on the whole I am pretty impressed. What's more, I've been cutting down on our household chemical use and saved a lot of cash. I've got a large family and the financial impact has been rather nice.

Sometimes, on heavily soiled washes, I do have put in a bit of bicarb of soda, or soda crystals..and it seems to do the job.
