Oh yes indeed - I'm the same... only I've collected photographic evidence to embarrass mine LOL
Likewise. For instance, two small boys (the oldest was under 4 at the time) standing on the back of the Chesterfield, stark naked in the bay window, waving their "anatomy" at the passers by and singing the Dennis the Menace cartoon theme tune.

I can't wait for them to bring their girlfriends home!

Just had a call from Andy. He's reached Haddington safely and is about to eat. He's having some time in Edinburgh tomorrow and meeting up with John Headstrong (I think he said) tomorrow night and then he's headed your way Ina!

Updated my blog, next stop somewhere near to St Andrews. Then Ina's the day after   I checked the milage and unless I have become Lance Armstrong overnight I ain't going to cycle 120 or so miles in day

Yep, getting quite excited about meeting some of the Scottish ishers.

At John's at the moment and updated my blog with some of the little observations I have made on this trip.

And to anyone that might worry I am about to have a massive breakfast, I am sitting here in new thermal underwear, two coats, I have reflective bits for my bike, two front lights, two back ones and it has been checked over by Norman the bike dude from Berwick. I am well rested and have maps for the whole journey.

I might do this trip again too, perhaps more slowly and a bit more all over the place trying to visit more ishers across the country.

Ina put me on to this today. It's probably too late but if you make it out this way, you're welcome to swing by the croft (just outside Insch). We're out and about over the next few days, but should/can be around at various times.

Oh, and it's bucketing down icy rain, sleet, hail, and the odd snow flake, as well as there being a bit of a blow! Doing paperwork is actually a luxury for once!

Weather is better this end of Aberdeenshire, too!

well, I dropped Andy off at the forth road bridge at about 10.45'ish, after giving him a huge breakfast and supplies. We had a great time last night, a good laugh and a hached a few plans.

He was last seen taking a photo of the bridge before he crossed it. It is a clear but cold day down this way, he is heading towards St Andrews which is 40 miles (according to google)

I kind of hope he'll go a bit further than that tonight... It's still around 60 miles from St. Andrews to mine, if he doesn't take the A90 - which is not recommended for bikes! :?

I've only just "discovered" google maps. Really useful. :bom:

Update on Andys mission

he got to St Andrews but could not find anywhere to stay, apart from one place that wanted 80 quid, so he phoned me and I phoned around about a dozen places but they where all full, I found one 6 miles out of town for 60. In the mean time Andy found a hostel, he is alone in a 6 person dorm with his own kitchen, all for 13 quid !!! :salute:

result!

And from there he phoned me last night - yes, St Andrews is a bit of a posh place...

So: he reckons he'll be here by 4 this afternoon - let's see if he is a bit optimistic there (as I think he is!). Anybody wanting to come along to give him a hero's welcome, please do so! And if you can't get hold of me to get details where to go, try and contact Shirley, Baldowrie or Cassiepod, they know where I live (and will hopefully be here).

Have fun - wish I was nearer than the West coast- but it is gloriously sunny here! :sunny:
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less travelled by
And that has made all the difference.
