What's all this 'ere then?
I'm Jenny and rather a small person, hence the moniker.
I'm below Margo in self-sufficiency, although a seasoned vegetable grower, and organic (of course!)
Got a BIG garden and an allotment, two boys two step-daughters and a bubba, so lots of excuses there then. Work part time, and spend the rest of my time fighting the evils of consumerism and waste.
Nice to meet you all.
What if the hokey cokey really is what it's all about?

hokey cokey

Yep the market town of Northampton. Kettering always reminds me of my childhod because of Wicksteed park. All swings seemed to come from there, is it still there?

I like the philisophical quote about the hokey cokey by the way.

Hello jen nice to meet you.

What is Northampton like, I have heard that it has a huge market place. I always see it signposted on the M1. (the town not the market place):geek:

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply. I've been away for a week and then comes Christmas etc. etc. etc.
Yep - Wicksteed Park's still there and I'm very annoyed with them at the moment. The advertise a Farmer's Market every month and I decided to check it out a little while ago. Well! Once you've driven in you find you have to pay a £5 parking charge. Then I found the 'Farmer's Market' consisted of two stalls and the rest was a car boot sale. When I went to complain they had a ready made complaint form! Filled it in asking for a refund of my £5 and haven't heard a thing since.
Regarding Northampton's market, I wouldn't say it was huge but I haven't been there on a Saturday when it might be bigger. I don't often go shopping in Northampton as it's noisy and dirty. Kettering's much nicer (except the farmer's market at Wicksteed Park).
