Lettuce Leaf Miner

Post: # 59232Post Seagull »

My lettuce is constantly being attacked by leaf miners. There are little white spots and then white trails going through some of the leaves. I don't know how they find it, because I live on the 5th floor of an apartment building.

So far I've just removed the affected leaves, but there seems to be more and more. Does anyone know of a(n organic) method of controlling these pests??

We have had these attack our peas. so far the only remedy I have is to look on the leaf, find the bug and squish it. I looked it up when I first noticed it, the real problem is that the eggs are laid singly and are microscopic, so noticing them is not going to happen, so until someone comes up with a better solution I'll be squashing them on site !
How hard can it be, how long can it take. What could POSSIBLY go wrong
