Planting Autumn garlic

Hi folks
My old allotment plot was a very sunny site, whereas my new plot, or at least half of it is mostly shaded. The other half has plenty of sun during the summer but I've noticed it's in the shade for much of the day now.
Now then. I started digging a patch for my garlic then realised it won't get much sun until the days get longer next year... Should I start a new patch on the other end of the plot where it gets a bit more sun but there's a lot of digging to be done, or should I just plant them in the patch that I've already dug over
Does that make any sense?!

I suggest to go with where the digging is done and get it planted before the season is too far gone Penny. Think ahead next year and cross fingers that we get sunny days next year.

I was hoping to hear that! There is so much couch, it'd take a bit too long now!

Yep there are years like that aren't there? When you are starting over it takes a year to learn.

I feel like I'm always saying "next year will be better"! I know it will be but it's going to be a hard slog getting there
