Well, now i am even more confused! In the last few days my three rather feeble asparagus crowns have put up another four shoots. I thought they only did this in spring? Or could it be that the warm and very rainy weather have fooled them? :dontknow: Any ideas anyone?

When the plants are young or weak, they are often slower in producing spears. It is only when they are strong and mature that they all come in spring. So don't worry all is well, just give them time and don't be too greedy next year, allow them to build up their strength.

Thank you! I haven't dared cut any spears from it yet at all! Perhaps it'll be strong enough by 2021.....
