thanks for the info Jim. not sure what date that day out is, but Winchester isnt that far...maybe a couple of hours drive, so certainly doable and it all sounds very interesting.
i'll google for more info.

Culpepper's is the best - but don't lend it to anyone - I lent mine out in 1986 and I still don't have it back.................

Hi Andy
Just saw your herb wheel design. I hope you'll have a lead lined pot (well not necessarily lead) to contain the roots of the soapwort - very invasive. Milk thistle can also be invasive too, although I managed to kill mine without much effort.

I'm interested to see that you have an hallucinogen, liver tonic and soap sorted - not sure where they fit into the cold cures but I'm sure it'll be interesting to experience. Just don't get them mixed up or you'll be foaming at the mouth. Or you may be anyway....

Where are you getting the seeds for your herb wheel from Andy? I haven't found any particularly good source for herb seeds yet. Would like some recommendations!

i'm not sure if its a particularly good source(being a newbie and all!), but Suffolk Herbs seems to have a wide range of herb seeds....i circled lots but in the end just went for a couple of things from the catalogue, and will follow up more next year once i'm ontop of the allotment, and have a good book to guide me!.

I am getting most of mine from Nicky's seeds as they sell a lot of the weird and wonderful seeds I am after.

I've wanted to do this for a while. Did something similar once upon a time but not with emphasis on the medicinal plants. I'll chat with the father in law at some stage because this is right up his street - he has done a huge amount of research into medicinal plants and helped at the Eden Project after he retired.
