We've grown it, on and off for years. Love it. The leaves are tasty as well as the florets. It doesn't do desperately well up here though. I think the winters are too hard for it.

I don't think those huge leaves would appreciate the winds we get here, so I have a vacant spot by the side of my small greenhouse which would be sheltered from most directions.
Ideal vegetable for the "hungry gap"

Yes, it's the wind here that gives them problems surviving the winter. It's rarely very cold or snowy.
