It's a sign of the times. It's seems we are all working harder these days. I have less disposable time than ever.

Re: Where is everyone?New post section perhaps?
Been absent for quite a while myself. Lots going on in my life at present and very little disposable time. I'm still growing a bit of veg but a bout of incapacity due to my dodgy back has put me behind this year. I do frequent a few other forums occasionally as well but not as much as I used to do.

Re: Quiet
Hello All.
Haven't been on here for quite some time. Life has been really hectic and doesn't look like easing up anytime soon.
Have made a start in the garden and intend to get really stuck in over Easter. Will try and drop in more often.

Some of the recent stuff I seen Dick Strawbridge in has been a pale immitation of the earlier stuff and very frivolous.

Still it just goes to show how fragile our infrastructure is. We need to look at local renewable energy systems, micro energy grids and return to locally produced food.

They never promised ish would be easy!!
Managed a bit of weeding and harvested more marrows than courgettes and still not sure what I'm going to do with them all. I think that we all have to do what we can and settle for that.

Was tempted as I have been for ten years or so. Just got back from a Blues festival that was pretty damned good.

Re: Its all so quiet ...
I'm on several forums and it seems to be the same everywhere. From my point of view, I regularly visit but haven't posted much of recent, due to being busy with other things.

Re: Your idea of what is frugal?
I grow some of my own veg and cook from scratch. I also monitor my energy consumption and look for alternative ways of doing things. I will always try and repair something before replacing. Even then I will opt for secondhand rather than new. Only buy what you need, not what you want. Buy own brands...

Re: Where are???
Been really busy at work, plus I've had some bad back issues which I am trying to come to terms with. Its official, I've finally worn myself out!! So I am also busy assessing my options and what I want to do when I finally decide to grow up. I have manage to start a few veggies off in the garden and...

Re: Recommend an Intro to Organic/Permaculture Gardening boo
Was in my local bookshop today and browsed a copy of 'A Vegetable Gardeners Guide to Permaculture' by Christopher Shein and Julie Thompson. Looked pretty comprehensive and as they are both Americans, should fit the bill perfectly.
