I'd imagine it's a case of mixing garlic oil with the wax.
Not sure about concentrations. might be a trial and error thing. Please report back anything you find out though!

Re: Lost dogs, tags and microchips
They're a great idea, and my dog in the UK is chipped, and nucky will be chipped as soon as I can find a vet than can do it... BUT...most police stations don't have chip readers, which is a big failing. More dogs could be reunited with their owners a lot quicker if they did have. Tags can be lost or...

Re: Deal with the dreaded manflu!
A big flask of fresh ginger, Lemon, Honey and spice tea. Add a dried chilli when pouring in the boiling water, and then, depending on how sadistic you're feeling, either take it out, or leave it in. After drinking the whole flask the manflu will either be disappearing quick, or the man will be jumpi...

Re: Tips to keep your extremeties warm in winter
you can get little heat pad thingies here that are like an activated charcoal type stuff (it's not activated charcoal though). They're one-use only though. Or...the gel heat pad thingies that you snap the metal bit to warm up, then boil to reset are quite good. Might want a pair of boots a size larg...

Re: Just bought a standalone internet radio, it's great.
I've been tempted to get one for a while.
My laptop speaker aren't good enough to listen to radio stations...and planet rock has Alice Cooper and Rick Wakeman at ridiculous times in the morning on Saturday in the UK...which makes it a much more civilised time here :)
Do they do alarm clock ones?

Re: my name's .......and i'm an amazonaholic
That's the trouble with internet shopping - you don't know where the business is based or where it pays its taxes. But if it keeps a few people in a job for some time then some tax is being paid at point of dispatch in the form of PAYE and a few people are not claiming state benefits for a period. ...

Re: Fancy a house in China with good transport links?
Doesn't surprise me. There's a few places like that. There's one house (just a house) on it's own in the middle of a road for the same reason. There's no compulsory buying here, so if the residents don't agree to the government buying their property, the government can't buy it. Houses tend to be le...

Re: prevent flour weevils?
Thanks Guys.
I bought the flour from a small local supermarket. I'll get the next lot from one of the bigger ones in town.
They weren't moths, they were weevils. Horrible little things!
I'll have to try and invest in a sieve as well I think!

Re: my name's .......and i'm an amazonaholic
I'm definitely an amazonaholic! I agree with Red about the shopping experience. Amazon is so much easier. I'm an ebayaholic too...luckily, selling as well as buying! I sell books on Amazon as well when I'm at home. Sadly, it's the nature of the future - online shops can sell cheaper than physical sh...

prevent flour weevils?
I bought a 5kg bag of flour a month ago and I've thrown the whole lot away in two batches because of flour weevils :( I transferred the flour to a clean airtight container and they still infested it. The container takes about half a bag, so about 2.5kg. The first lot was infested in a week or so. I ...

Re: Where to go?
China. I really love it here. I'm only leaving at the end of this academic year because I love England too, and want to live somewhere green with central heating in the winter for a while!! If I were to have children (highly unlikely - I've got a dog, she's enough!), then i'd still have them here. I...
