Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
That's great! You will put more photo's on then, won't you. It is not that we're curious or anything.... We just like to know how it is turning out :-) But of course! I'll snap some more photos today, but for now here are a few that I found after digging around a bit in my phone: IMG_20120915_17354...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
Hej, hej, everyone! We've been putting up paneling and are very nearly finished - we have about half of the ceiling left. Also, my roof tin finally, oh finally arrived and we picked it up and put it on. It's so pretty ! My dad has been sawing boarding for the outer walls and we will soon get the woo...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
You need to seal them, wax or oil or varnish or paint, if not they will swell and warp and cause you all kinds of trouble I reckon????? Yep, I would probably need to oil them over and over and over again. Hmm... Today we've been busy putting up panelling, which will later be painted with linseed oi...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
I bet you can't wait for it to be finished. You've come so far already, you'll get there in no time. Thank you, Zoe, I'm feeling a bit more hopeful today! So yesterday we put the window in and I'm in love. I'm considering not painting the windows - they're so beautiful as they are! Anyone with any ...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
I've been working a lot recently, so I haven't had much time or energy for building. Things haven't stood completely still, though - my dad fixed a window frame and we picked up some linseed oil paint that I ordered for the door and windows. I've put on the first coat of paint on the door so far. Of...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
Look what I found! They're made out of porcelain and yes, it was love at first sight. *Sighs happily.* I could sit and just look at them all day... Heh.

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
Thank you!
Today we continued with the insulation. The 95 mm wood fibre insulation is proving to be easy to work with and, most importantly, it doesn't itch!

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
One and a half weeks ago I had an EEK-I'M-NEVER-GOING-TO-FINISH-THIS-DAMN-HOUSE-LET'S-JUST-BURN-IT moment. That was helpful. Since then, we've raised all the walls and put on a roof. I'm *hoping* that the, er, "worst" work is over. (Please just agree with me here...) Now we're fixin...

Re: "Hej!" from Sweden
If you are anywhere in Skåne/Blekinge/Kronoberg and you need wood - let me know. I have tons of the stuff and I'm happy to give it away !!!! Thanks, but I'm not - I'm up in the woods around Tiveden. But if you want to get rid of it, try posting on http://www.alternativ.nu/. Thanks again, though! :i...

Re: Building a Swedish hermit's hut!
Ok, ok, I know - I really suck at updating! But anyway! A lot of stuff has happened and there hasn't been a lot of time for building. The family dog died, two rowdy pups moved in, we've been to Germany, I've been working like hell and studying not so much like hell and blah, blah, blah... So what's ...
