Re: An alternative breakfast

The thing is, Sologne, the only ones who take part in this thread, are the ones who have interesting breakfasts they want to show of. And I bet, not every day. I'm sure most of our breakfasts are cornflakes and milk :pukeright: or toast and marmelade :profileright: ! You are probably right, but the...

Re: An alternative breakfast

Well I would still eat/try the lot for breakfast. I certainly think, after reading this thread, that my porridge or toast breakfasts are absolutely BOARING... :(

Re: Building a wood store - new stove, suggestions ?

Well done Skeast for the wood store, you should put some pictures. Hubby just finished building a wood store with palettes too. You can see it on the web-site of our house (see link below). Any left over bits of palettes are used in the stove mixed with some oak. On another note... I j...

Re: Another new member saying hi!

Hi Sam and welcome! I can't help you with the magazines, but I hope you find an answer and keep on enjoying your travelling for now. Are you currently in SA? Hubby lived down there for many years, lovely place. Being selfsufficent-ish in Africa should certainly be more simple to do than in Eu...

Welcome Kane

I think you will find a fair few people here who think like you, some who are learning, some who are in the middle of being self sufficient and some who are as self sufficient as one can be, but still strive to go further. So enjoy your visits.

Whoa, nice mixture. :salute: A nice piece of Limousin beef would be a nice addition. Some lovely steaks in those big cows.

Re: Damn those pesky rodents

Maybe you should get a cat for the mice if you don't have one yet. Ours tackled one this morning and dispatched the little thing in no time... The problem is I think no matter how many mice the cat can eat (and she is always catching some), there are always new ones about... We do have some barn owl...

Re: Bonjour from France

Hi David, Yep, Sologne it is  I have never been to Limousin, but I suspect it is a nice place, a bit less wet than where we are I think. We certainly have a project and a half as I always say, but hubby is the one doing most of it. I only do some painting and the garden, so we can have ...

Re: What are you sowing ?

I've done all I wanted to do yesterday, plus some artichokes and some lettuces! I now have a big table near the window in our main room covered with little pots. I just have to wait and see what comes out. Today I replanted; well separated; one of my aloes and I now have 9 new pots. No...

Nothing started yet, but really want to get on with it this week-end maybe, with tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines and artichokes at least...
