Can anyone identify this herb please?
I bought a herb in Glastonbury a few weeks ago. It was an unusual one which I'd read about, and it had been on my wish list for quite a while. I was so pleased to find it! Planted it out. And now .... can't find any trace of the name anywhere in my, updated, files. I thought it was called something ...

Spindly asparagus
We've had our asparagus bed for some 15 years. This year, as always lately, a lot of very thin ones come up, along with, luckily, fat ones as well. I've heard it say that the thin ones are the female ones  - is it a good idea to pull them up, or should I keep them and let them grow with the ot...

Re: 101 natural health and medicinal remedies
Re mouth ulcers. Speaking for myself, I always get them when I lack zinc. So though you can deal with them in many ways, to prevent getting them it's good to eat more shellfish (oysters!), peas/beans, yoghurt, (pea)nuts, whole grains and seeds. Meat eaters are less likely to get a deficiency, as it'...

Re: Hello!
Unhealthy is probably right. Before he married his diet was largly egg, chips and beans. His wife has perservered over the years and with much nagging (or is it "life coaching" as I've heard it called?) has finally got him to eat a least a few vegatables although the brocolli he eats is do...

Re: Hello!
My friends brother is also a vegatrian and makes it much harder work. He is very fussy about what he eats and the majority of veggys are off the menu because he doesn't like them, It sounds like he'd be unhealthy whether he eats vegetarian or not. Might a simple book about vegetarianism/nutrition m...

And was it true? When I was younger I travelled to Montreal solely for the reason that the Lonely Planet (travel guide) said people from Montreal like to take their clothes off.

Introducing: black radish!
I couldn't get through the winter without black radish - ramenas as they call it in Holland, where it is much better known. It's easy to grow. We've had good and bad years for everything, but the black radish has never failed us yet. I usually eat them raw with my sandwiches, or grated in salads, bu...

Re: An alternative breakfast
The thing is, Sologne, the only ones who take part in this thread, are the ones who have interesting breakfasts they want to show of. And I bet, not every day. I'm sure most of our breakfasts are cornflakes and milk or toast and marmelade !

Re: What are you reading?
I'm afraid I always ever read only Scandinavian crime novels! Especially Henning Mankell's Wallander series. I don't like violent deaths particularly, but in books it is not nearly as bad as on the telly. They must have human interest at their core. After Mankell come Arnaldur Indriðason (Iceland) a...
