Very sad news
Both super.niki and I had a little cry to ourselves.
There was a lovely interview with him and Prunella Scales (they were still really good friends) in the Daily Mail the Friday before he died. It showed him to be a thoroughly good chap and a gentleman.

Re: 3 R's Kids Clothes
If you have old onesies that are past wearing stage but still functional see if the local vet wants them for animals that have just had surgery. Nucky's just been spayed and she hasn't licked her stitches, but her belly's itching as the fur grows back, so she's scratched it. She's got red sides now,...

Re: Tips to keep your extremeties warm in winter
to knit a nose-warmer: If you know how to make a short-row toe or nose for a sock, make one and then attach strings to the sides. I just made one to see how well it works: CO 15 st (I'm using a light DK weight yarn and UK 3.5mm needles). 1. k all the way across 2. p all the way across 3. k14, w&...

Re: who's got the oldest singer sewing machine on here??
Agnes (pink) is from 1953 and Morag (black, treadle/electric) is from 1952. Love their names, how did they get them? Well...They're both old ladies, and they were both made in Edinburgh, so they just seemed to acquire traditionally old lady scottish names. I always saw the name Agnes as being a str...

Re: Lost dogs, tags and microchips
Nucky is now chipped, vaccinated and spayed! Cost me a pretty penny to get it all done, and we've got to go back in a month for the rabies test, but she's getting ready to travel now. One thing I found out though - I thought that the chip held information such as vaccinations/medical disorders etc, ...

If you're thinking about going away in the summer and wouldn't mind an Isher, I'd be happy to help you out!
I've got a chihuahua mix who gets on with other dogs, would that be a problem? I love Tewkesbury and the surrounding areas and I'm too poor to go on holiday

Re: What are you reading?
I'm still with the cosies. I'm reading Sammi Carter's Candy Shop Mysteries at the moment. I'm halfway through the 4th book. I did just finish 'Another Man's Trousers and Other Stories' by Sue Whitaker. It was a free download to the kindle. It was ok, but she pretends to not be judgemental, while bei...

Re: Lost dogs, tags and microchips
I wouldn't have a problem with paying for details to be changed, as long as more places had chip readers. I'd rather pay to get the dog tattooed - its permanent and visible. As long as the ID registry was available online somewhere, it'd be a much better idea - show me a police station/dog warden/re...

Footwarmer! I actually got it a few weeks ago. It's like a cushion that you put your feet in, and the cushiony bit has an electric blanket element in it.
It was £4! and does double duty as a dog bed...It's not supposed to be a dog bed, but it keeps being taken over.

Re: Let’s have a list of New years resolutions & !revolution
1. Get me and the dog safely back to the UK in one piece.
2. Go to the gym when it opens.
3. Keep up Tai Chi when it starts back up (too cold at the moment).
4. Stop smoking cigarettes (e-cig all the way...or hookah only).
5. Get a proper job.

Re: Tips to keep your extremeties warm in winter
you laugh at the nose warmer, but I knitted one on request for my sister a few years ago. I knitted it as a joke because she was complaining about having a cold nose. It's now in the camping kit and she wears it every time we go camping...

Agnes (pink) is from 1953 and Morag (black, treadle/electric) is from 1952. I love my old singers, they just have something about them. Agnes has the most beautiful sound, she purrs through fabric. Morag's got to be serviced and have her power lead and belt replaced before I use her. She's got an or...

Re: give peas a chance
There's a bridge over a motorway somewhere in England between Essex and Leicester (can't remember where...I'll ask my sister later). It says 'Give Peas a Chance on it'. I love going past it.

Umm...if you find the Ish page, I'm one of the admins... which reminds me - who else is an admin? I know I set Andy and Dave to admin too. Apparently there's someone on there being a pain, but I can't log in to it (china). I've got a vpn on my phone, but it drops after a few minutes and I can't actu...

Personally, I like a good hookah session. I had some very nice strawberry shisha New Year's Eve.
