Interesting, one of the posts a while back scared me a bit with wormers saying it could kill the earthworms, hence my mucking out precautions since- but I have to say the 'old' compost from ladt year wheich was before I had read this is teaming with worms. So i'm either lucky or it doesn't kill any...

get a suitable sized storage tub (we use a plastic 3 litre pot with lid) sterilise it with boiling water. boil the milk you are going to use to make the yougurt. cool the milk to 40 - 45 dg C. stir in the starter - either use a purchased yoghurt starter, or a couple of spoonfulls of live natural yog...

the mutton won't be tough if you hang the carcasse long enough and then cook the meat slow enough. we recently killed a 4 year old wether, hung it for ten days before butchering and the slow roast meat is to die for.
