Re: Cat gravy

the subject name made me chuckle  I'm fed up feeding our cat whiskas and want to find something from a less 'corporate' source (and less canned / stupid little plastic pouch packaged that OH seems to keep buying and using). She's not massively fussy - not too keen on the jelly round the stuff t...

Re: sewing machine advice

Does anyone know how t service a sewing machine (more specifically, a 1954 treadle/electric Singer)? I took the electric 1953 singer to be serviced and it was £75!!!! sorry no idea how to help. I can't believe it cost you £75 for a service though. I've ended up having mine serviced/ repaired a coup...

Still using vigin olive oil for cooking with though - bought a wee spray pump thingy last year and use it in that.

Re: gappy floorboards

I was told that when floorboards were originally sanded the dust was kept and mixed with varnish to fill the gaps between - I like the sound of the papier mache - I never tried that. Decorators caulk (comes in various colours too) might work better than silicon although it's not as flexible so might...

Re: Any tips on fitting a log burner into a caravan? please help

My hubbie lived in a static previously - he fitted a normal woodburning stove no probs. Just get a really small one or you'll be sitting in a t shirt with the windows and doors open. He put 3 large slabs on the floor (took the load nae bother) and fitted mineral? sheeting to the walls around where t...

We have a willow farm at the bottom of the road and they recommended it - their advice is to harvest a 1/4 each year as it...
