Re: Getting to know you

I prefer shellfish to actual fish, though I like tuna and a nice piece of battered cod! And I dance all the time at home, when no-one's around to see me ;)

Sounds great - where abouts is the Quaker hall in Penparcau? I live just outside Llanilar so I'd love to come along. I have a decent sized garden, but it's carp for growing in!!

Dorset - Sea Barn Farm campsite, near Weymouth, in July. It was my first holiday for almost 7 years, and it was cracking. What i...

Re: REALLY SORRY - A Chrismas thread

I'll be making baskets with home made stuff in - cakes, preserves, pickles, knitted disclothes, tea cosies, that kind of thing for the foodie basket Also hand made soap with knitted facecloths, knitted stoles or hats, hand sewn bags (I'm making a guitar shaped one for my sister). I'm also making ran...

I live on a dirt road that has a couple of other houses on it somewhere up the road (about a mile outside the nearby village) - what does that count as

Re: nice washing tablets!

I've been using the Simply washing tabs for ages now, I bought 4 tubs on the website and got one free, so under the sink was packed with them!! They don't smell too overpowering, get stuff nice and clean, especially whites which really come out crisp. No irritation either, and hubby has very sensiti...

Re: wanted: soaps, shampoos etc

OOh! I'm having a go at some handmade soap in a couple of weeks, it will be palm oil free, and honey/oatmeal "flavour". You are very welcome to some once it has cured :) I'm giving some away for Christmas too with my handknitted cotton washcloths :)

Re: Selfsufficientish Courses what do you want?

Definately spinning - would be a handy skill to have seeing as we're surrounded by sheep here! To go with that, natural dyeing and weaving. I would also be interested in wild foods, especially mushrooms as I wouldn't dare go pick any until I had had a proper introduction! Cost wise, I'm not sure, I'...

Re: Women's health: what wearing a bra will do to you

Definately couldn't do without a bra - I'd do myself an injury! I would think it's much more dangerous to undertake any kind of physical activity without proper support? As long as you get a properly fitting bra, and regularly get measured, there shouldn't be an issue of comfort. I have different si...

This was shown on primetime BBC1 here in Wales earlier in the year. It was very interesting, espcially the family's different ways of coping - had to laugh at the woman sho struggled with her range stove all week, poor thing.

Re: Knitters - are you on ravelry?

Oooh I am on Ravelry - username linzibean, original I know! I have only just learnt to knit so I'm doing really simple projects, but I'm getting there. I have just started the double knit scarf of DOOM, which is driving me bonkers!
