No reply or acknowledgement from John West as yet. Will wait another week (simply because I'm very busy this and next week) and if none received by then will follow up with them.

I don't shower every day either except for the three or four days I'm having my period - I could manage without the daily shower then as well but it's a comfort thing as well as a clean thing. Otherwise I shower maybe twice a week, once to wash my hair. On days I don't shower I wash using a half-sin...

At least they're not dairy - so they'd be okay wouldn't they!

Does the friend eat other meat and just not bacon or are they vegetarian?

I'm sure I'd have a different list on any given day but here are five:

1. Some Like It Hot
2. What's Up Doc
3. Pump Up the Volume
4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
5. Back to the Future (but only the first one, 'cos I have nearly the whole sticker book for that filled in :) )

No need to - they don't, of course, reject cans of salmon. . In which case, they shouldn't say that they do. I'm assuming that, as you say, the answer is that they sell it to other companies, who in turn sell it on for cheaper prices. I have emailed them, don't think it will do any harm for them to...

Not quite food wasted by the average household but I just saw this and was shocked by their proud statistic that they reject over 10 million cans of salmon per year (because they don't meet their quality standards). Am going to write and ask them what...

She will throw away potatos becuase they're slightly green (apparently green potatos are poisonus? Maybe true... but 20y/o and still living!) True but, like you I've eaten the occasional green bit and still living (33 years later!). It's why you have to earth potatoes up when growing them, they go ...

I discovered blogs about a year and a half ago while searching for info on simple living. When I tried to find out what a blog was it was described as essentially an online diary and, after reading a few for a few weeks, I decided it would be a good way to keep track of what I was doing. It was only...

I thought you got dreads by not washing or brushing your hair. Hmm, must be another urban myth. At any rate it's what my brother told me would happen to my hair if I stopped using shampoo (he thought stopping using shampoo meant stopping washing altogether). So, sorry, no advice to help specifically...

I put down lots of salt at every entrance to my house, much the same way I used to put down ant killer powder - they can stay outside and do what they want but can't stand them in the house. They don't seem to like crossing over the salt although it was only last year I tried that and there weren't ...

I just bought a mooncup at the weekend after more than a year of using washable pads (and using the soaking water to fertilise houseplants, they've never looked so good!). I'm another one who can't believe I went so long (20 years almost to the month) without realising there are alternatives to disp...

Hi. I took part in a charity walk in Slovenia last year. We were based near Lake Bled and trekked various mountain trails within a couple of hours of there. It's a fabulous country and I would love to spend more time there. I'm not allowing myself though until I've spent more time in France - need t...

This guy has been doing some experimenting with wood gassification. I can't seem to make any sense out of it but I'm not terribly technically minded - you might find it interesting though.
