I'm presuming you're making it in sandwich tins, the shallow ones?
If so the cooking time will be the same - 15-20 mins.

I'd say it's Bay too - it's the little red buds where the Leaf joins the Stem that makes me say that PLUS it's aromatic PLUS it looks like Bay.
Can't you ask your neighbour, just to make sure?

Ants generally won't bother you. If you've upset their nest then they will soon bugger orf somewhere else. HOWEVER - if this does not prove the case....then a trail of uncooked Pasta leading them somewhere where you don't mind them being will do the trick.

I have this problem too and I have all my seedlings covered in net and my raised bed is covered in a long piece of trellis I found by the side of the road. I leave them there until the Plants in pots are big enough that it's not going to tempt the little blighters. The trellis I'll leave there indef...
