Re: Soap Nuts - tried and tested - and verdicts?

With soapnuts we always recommend a dash of soda crystals or bicarb to get maximum freshness and using vinegar in the rinse aid does wonders. not onl for the freshness and cleaning side but it also helps descale the freezer. We (like Thomzo) suffer with hard water but find that even the small boys n...

Re: help with between floors insulation...

I spend most of my days doing insulaton survey and it is most gratifying giving ...

Re: Quick question about baby clothes

Hi there, My little lad is 6months old today and I have seen a great selection of various baby clothes for the small fella. Largely in pastel, often making him look like a gay sailor. I think that darker colours can be perfectly pleasant, without having to go to the goth extreme. My favorite clothin...

Re: Compost Help!

I add mine quite liberally but that said I avoid weeing in the house.. saves water and if you think your bin is a little moist just pee direct on the beds, avoid peeing straight on the plants obviously or concentrating on the same spot and all should be well.. by the way, you have a beautiful way wi...

Re: Laundry balls

Yeah, I can certainly agree that I miss that just washed smell. I found coconut oil was the best remedy. A few drops in the fabric conditioner tray did wonders. It is almost certianly deadly however waking up and finding all you bedclothes smelling so tasty. Often missing a pillow :D Mint was quite ...

Re: Laundry balls

fair point, wasn't thinking about that, although you dont need to rinse much with soapnuts either, they don't foam up as much as manufactured powders so less to get rid of.

I clearly love my sopanuts don't I... lol

Re: Laundry balls

yeah always a fair mix of opinion, none will save water though. I just go with the lowest level of manufacturing, closet link to natural that way, seems a reasonable line to walk down to me... none will work as well as manufactured cleaners however as they have added bleaches etc... but you can add ...
