Full moon sugar frenzy!

The day started well with a nice walk along the canal before it got too hot then home for breakfast. Then I thought I'd make some biscuits, in homage to the seventies summer I thought I'd make some choc chip cookies, only they were ridiculously sweet and I left far too much mixture in the bowl to li...

Re: Sewing hlep please: measure twice cut once!

Hello, thought I'd post a pic of some of the bunting I made. I was really happy with it and it made the village hall look very friendly and festive. Thanks for the help.

Next on the list is making cushion covers from the table mats :sunny:

Re: Elderflower season is here!

I just use whatever sugar I've got but love light or dark brown for flavour. I haven't had any problems with it for elderflower cordial but haven't tried cordials for other fruits. It makes it a bit darker but that's fine by me. Honey sounds nice, maybe I'll give that a try if I get round to doing s...

Re: Rainbow patchwork skirt

That is one beautiful skirt! Well done :salute: I was just thinking this morning that I don't have a nice sumer skirt and thinking how lovely a patchwork one would be ... maybe if I start now I'll be ready for next summer (or maybe not given my terrible lack of focus) but now my problem is solved - ...

Re: How do i make vinegar?

Hello  I've never made vinegar but have vague memories of my friedns' dad doing it ... I think he had some sort of large vat in their cellar which was filled with wine and a mysterious spongey looking item called 'the mother' which looked like a cross between a pile of sediment and a liver! I ...

All looks delish and I didn't notice either typos but do like the pen and your handwriting very much.

Re: How do I complain about our honeymoon?

Alas this is the owner, who started off making comments such as he wasn't willing to give a further refund as the problems aren't serious (at that point he had refunded £25 for the awning which was ripped, had a cracked pole and the bag was full of fag ends - well not full, but not nice). He also po...

Re: How do I complain about our honeymoon?

Thanks spider8 :hugish: I'm happy enough if he sends the money through, will pay off our credit card spends on meals out cause of no cool box and ridiculous fuel costs due to terrible set up (and hopefully get us away camping for a bit of a breather yippee)! Also gives me hope he will think twice be...

Re: How do I complain about our honeymoon?

Fab pic MMM funnelwebs are AMAZING arene't they! Haven't had to do any spider rescues lately but that's a good job as we're up to our necks in it keeping an eye on all the baby birds who have been getting themselves into all sorts of scrapes. Found a lovely little mouse on friday too mid-hike who wa...

Re: Mange tout

Sounds like you'd better get eating  I can't really offer any inspirational ways of using them ... the only thing I've done with them you don't do already is have them steamed for a minute (blanced in a sieve above the potaoes that I'm boiling) then sauteed with some garlic, rosemary & black pe...

What a shame :( Must be rotten having them screaming when you're just trying to help.

I am a big fan of salt baths for healing ie sea salt in the bath but don't know much about small children so don't know if salt baths are ok for the little ones :dontknow:

No worries mate! It's not the campervan that was the problem so much as the campervan man!

Gem, I like cycling and I like camping but I have never cycle-camped. This is quite exciting!
