Re: Can I "not buy anything new for a year?"

You might be able to get a computer & washing machine second hand, flo. eg via freecycle. I recently bought a reconditioned laptop over the internet too. I think it's an interesting idea not to buy new, I buy a lot of stuff second hand anyway.(just got a pair of curtains from the kitchen from the ch...

Re: Stop my neighbours cat using my lawn as a toilet?

i sympathise so much - we have this problem too. I bought a sonic thingie too, but am not convinced it works - I'm sure the cat (s) have worked out what it is & knock it over & carry on! Although our problem has been a bit intermittent for some reason.. My OH keeps adding it to the compost now. Two ...

Re: Our "Leaders" fail to lead - so what next

Is there global warming per se or is there global warming leading to global cooling? I do not deny there are practices going on that are not helpful but have you noticed how we (the 'little people') are being made to blame? If we do not recycle the world will come to an end etc - where are the penal...

Re: Home Remedies for PMT and Pains please!

for me, I found that excess oestregen was making me sick. I found this website really helpful for me - it talks about the role of the liver and lists foods & herbs that are oestregenic. Since limiting these i am much less bloated & period pain is much less too. www.sensiblehealth.com A period after ...

Re: Our "Leaders" fail to lead - so what next

I no longer believe in ' global warming' caused by humans, as apart from anything else it is obviously a way to tax us further. (and bring in one world government) I have heard that Dr David Bellamy was sidelined from mainstream media for daring to disagree with the idea. There were emails leaked ju...

Re: Other people's children

what an interesting debate - no easy answers. Personally, I think if you have asked a child not to do something, their parent should support you - also I think you were brave to stand up to the fact that you were assaulted at the supermarket. Hopefully the child saw his effect on you and may have le...

Re: Electricity Usage Club

Actually i use a flask too. like Ina. I have a flask which keeps water hot enough even overnight - it's an old one. It's brilliant for me, as I cannot drink drinks which are too hot and often waste them because by the time it's cooled down enough there's not enough time to drink it or I forget about...

Re: Just found some hips, what are they?

Can any rosehips be used - I have some roses of some description in my garden, small thorns, not very fragrant but look pretty? Does it affect the flowering of the plants if the rosehips are taken?

Has anybody made rosehip syrup? Is it easy? What do you need for it?
