Re: 101 ways to save money

Drink water instead of other liquids. Buy ingredients, rather than pre-packaged foods. Grains are cheap...

Re: The Ish home haircut

There are lots of choices. I have tried all of the above DIY haircuts. I have decide to let mine grow long enough so that I can just brush it to the front and look down at it, about waist length, and trim off the ends. That way I don't have to hold my arms up and turn myself into a pretzel in front ...

That's why my mother has three sewing machines. You just never know when you'll need that other one.

Googling "tomato jam" brought a few hits. Here's one: http://foodgeeks.com/recipes/type/8,5,1 ... _jam.phtml

Maybe there's something appealing amongst those recipes.

Re: Improving the taste of cod liver oil, help please.

Have thought about the capsules, but haven't found any of the same quality yet. Will pursue that, tho'. Can't eat nuts or have nut oils.

Meanwhile, if someone knows what would improve the taste of cod liver oil, I'd very much like to know.

Thanks!

Some days this helps, some days it doesn't. Anyone know what could make it go down a little easier? (I don't dr...

Re: People's reactions to what we see as "normal"

Bluemoon, that was priceless! Thank you very much. Why do people who watch television or track the lives of others insist upon forcing such !*#! upon others. I find myself saying, "I'm really not interested.", "It's none of my business.", "Too bad you wasted your time." But, your comeback is beautif...

Re: 101 professions for a self-sufficientish, thinking person

Jim, thanks for your thoughtful post. I am currently living off my savings and doing the odd proofreading job, putting miscellaneous irons in the fire. I am researching possibilities, and praying about what is fitting for me to do. I left various fruitful endeavors in Europe to return to the States ...
