Re: What do you add to already-made yoghurt?

Annpan, If you don't have a yoghurt maker, I've found this recipe foolproof. The little glasses are handy, but it can be made in one big container. Heat a pint of milk to 180 degrees (Fahrenheit) or almost boiling. [Boiling and letting it cool will work just fine, too.] Cool it to between 105 and 11...

Mesquite or hickory wood are the two I know and like.

Re: What do you add to already-made yoghurt?

Annpan, I make my own. I have one of those yoghurt makers that has little individual glasses. I use organic milk, and sometimes add cream. MMmmmmm. It's much nicer than anything I've ever bought.

Re: Why aren't men more organised?

Maybe it's a generational thing. My father knows where all his tools are. The nails, screws, bolts, and washers are sorted and in tins with screw-on lids. Everything is labelled. Everything has been kept in the same place for many years. He's in his eighties. The men I've known in that age group and...

What do you add to already-made yoghurt?

I like putting in jam or maple syrup, or fresh fruit, when I'm not on one of my "only eat it plain" kicks.

What you add to yours?

This site is full of molasses recipes.

It's excellent for making old-fashioned gingerbread or ginger cake with rye flour.

My great-great aunt say "Everything in moderation, including moderation."
She turned 102 this spring, and still walks without a cane.

Ellendra; that is a brilliant quote.

Re: Climbing back on the ish wagon.

Welcome back. I'd guess that most all of us fall into temptation's snare sometimes. But, here we are, sitting by the window, no lights on. Air conditioning is set at 80, the fans are going. Shopping bags are hanging on the legs of the tiny exercise trampoline by the door. Stevia plants grinning in t...

I'd be interested to know if the 200/265 ratio is true. Any reports?

The woman who owns the site is in Ireland. Some of us do live in the States. I know of one who is in New Zealand. It'd be really great to have people from all over. I can't always utilize some of the things posted here at ish. Sometimes I don't even know what folks are referrring to. Ish is such a n...

I'm active on this forum: http://www.thriftyhearts.co.uk/forum/index.php

It's friendly, and a nice, little community. It's new and still quite small. It's called Thrifty Hearts and you are all cordially invited.
