Re: Someone say something

My work life balance just isn't at the mo, more on the work less on the life which is sucking big time. Added with the fact there have been 5 deaths in the family within 12 months so have not been the chattiest of people of late.

Growing for Flavour - James Wong

I was given this book by my sister for my birthday & I have to say I'm impressed, he states from the start that he is being biased as to his favourites, but then most books are when it comes recommended varieties. I have found the book easy to read with good hints & tips for increasing flavour of yo...

Re: How to make you feel old ...

Well it came to pass that gay marriage is now legal there too, Ireland feel proud of yourself. I found out about it at Birmingham Pride, where it also appears I now have a nickname of Big Daddy Rob by the former Aston LGBT+ society, I thought about it & realised I was actually old enough to be some ...

Why are cardboard coffins so expensive?

Before my dad passed away he stated he wanted a cardboard coffin so a tree wasn't being felled just to burnt. What surprised me is the fact that the cheapest cardboard coffin that was on offer was £400 more expensive than the cheapest wooden one. It appears that just because things are environmental...

Re: Planning for being self sufficientish in 2015

Things have fallen very much by the wayside so far this year due to my dad's brain tumour, but now he is gone I kind of feel that I owe it to him to carry on his good work in growing veg, he was my inspiration for being into this way of life. I'll be inheriting his greenhouse so I will think of him ...

Re: How Selfsufficientish were you in 2014

I started out well with my veggies plot, but when my dad starting having seizures & then finding out he had a brain tumour, it took a bit of a back seat, though I did make most of my Christmas presents

Re: Hand Made Wedding

So we will be looking at Dudley Registry office for the civil ceremony, which is a beautiful old building, but looking at the Clent Hills for the handfasting part. Being gay means we don't have to worry about dresses, make up etc. It was more the evening do, if our house was bigger we would have a h...

We are looking at going seasonal, my mum has agreed to do the weddi...
