Re: Anyone bought a VW T3(T25) Camper?

I must admit to not knowing a great deal about the mechanics of cars. But something over 30 years old has to be treated warily I suspect. Is there any service history to verify that mileage? As it's at a garage could you start by asking the garage if they would consider putting another 12 month's MO...

Re: Another personal apology

Oh dear! Red rags and bulls springs to mind as I HAD to go and research what you were talking about (being totally oblivious to the posts before).

I must say I have to agree with you though. And apologies probably aren't required...

Re: Springs

No chance to go up there today so it's a first thing in the morning job tomorrow. If it's NOT a pipe for the spring water then I am completely flummoxed. The black piping IS very rigid but it only seems to be used for the last twenty metres of the length (some point after I see the green one coming ...

Re: Springs

OK, there is no open pipework coming out of the storage tank and the water is below the level of the out pipe. So we are going to put a bucket under the chopped off end nearest the house and take a couple of 5 gallon containers of water up there to raise the water level in the storage tank. Mobiles ...

Re: Springs

Bit of a mystery here! I'll try to take a clearer photo tomorrow. The green pipe is loose inside the black one, as if it's just been pushed through for protection at that point. On the other hand the green piping is hard plastic so presumably needs little protection, and it's bare at the point it co...

Re: Springs

Thanks MKG. I looked at Pex and can't see anything which looks like this one. Here's a photo (poor quality, iphone plus it's raining) but you can see the "insert" goes right across the piping rather than a sort of outer sleeve, which is what Pex seems to be. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l360/j...

Re: Asian beauties

I've progressed to blocked drains now - must have been my post about our blocked springwater pipes... Oh and also an invite to subscribe to see Newcastle v Sunderland on 4th March. Why do "they" assume I want to see that I wonder?

Springs

Following on from the well thread, I can see some people have water supplied via a spring. So I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this please? This is a bit of a long post but I do get there in the end... We currently have a bore hole (nasty sulphurous stuff but plenty of it). The house was ...

Re: That's why I love living here

So here we are more or less in the foothills of Snowdonia complete with a new 4 x 4 and a pantry full of food. Result? No snow, no signs of snow, very little frost (lot of rain of course, it IS Wales). We've actually been gardening for the last two days. I can't believe what we've been seeing on the...

Re: Asian beauties

Oh dear! Apparently I must sit here with my head in the clouds. I had no idea what anyone was talking about to begin with and only discovered the ads a few minutes ago. Obviously COMPLETELY wasted on me... Mine are solar panels by the way!

Re: Tragic...

Thanks for that idea Seasidegirl, and you're so right. It's ironic that my daughter is a psychologist with a Masters in counselling so she certainly has plenty of colleagues she can speak to and, hopefully, will know enough to realise she will probably need it too. I haven't managed to speak to her ...

Re: Tragic...

Thanks for all the input. And I think the general consensus is right, we really have no idea what is in the mind of an intelligent, caring person when they feel they have no other options. I just noticed her very last Facebook post on Monday which is "doing what I have to do" and it becomes more obv...

Tragic...

I just discovered last night that my daughter's younger half sister (complex family relationships...) committed suicide yesterday at her Mom's house in the US. Apart from the obvious shock and deep regret (she was a bubbly and extrovert 25 year old who had just qualified as a vet there and I was ver...

Re: How Rude!

Perhaps the PA didn't hand it in? Worth asking I would think. Then he/she might nudge the headmaster into responding.
