Re: weight loss 2013

I haven't been weighing myself lately but still doing 5:2. Fallen off the weight loss wagon a bit as Jan/Feb are birthday months for me and the children - so lots of parties, cake and eating out.

Weighed myself this morning - 75kg. 3kg lost in a month. Am very pleased :)

Re: Pruning

Lochside Yogi - just to encourage you - when we moved into our house in France 10 years ago, we didn't realise that we had an orchard of over 40 trees! We knew there were SOME fruit trees but not quite so many. The brambles were thick and completely swamped the orchard and we spent our first year ha...

Re: Out of date tins

Be careful with ye olde tins of black treacle.

We had a tin explode in a cupboard once. Went off with a "bang" and coated the contents of the cupboard with an 'orrible sticky mess!

Re: I love a bargain, what did you buy today??

I was trolling around one of the cheapo shops today and saw they had Charlotte seed potatoes for a £1 a kilo. Nothing wrong with them that I can see. In date and not sprouting. They also had a good selection of onion sets. I bought a couple of kilos of the spuds. Wouldn't normally get them this earl...

Re: Jamming

It is great to here about your bartering success. I don't think the Frogs in our bit of Brittany would go for anything less than alcohol for bartering purposes. The accepted currency is a bottle of Scotch or maybe Bush Mills :( and even then, no-one gives away precious wood.

Re: Horse Burgers anyone?

I think that was introduced after the last foot and mouth outbreak when the source was traced to a farmer who'd fed his pigs on pork waste from a Chinese restaurant.

It's people! Soylent Green is made out of people! I always think of TVP as Soylent Green too! I know it is a serious matter, but I have been amused by the jokes doing the rounds this morning. :pukeright: Seriously though, this horse meat hoo-ha does rather make a mockery of all the controls that we...

I agree and hope you haven't "flounced" Don't stop posting on this topic Jon. I've enjoyed reading your posts on the subject and it would be a shame if we didn't hear more about your experiences of 5:2. One of the things I like about this forum is that we are all grown-ups. Even the bo...

Re: weight loss 2013

Haven't commented on demi's weight as it is nobody's business but her own..but that doesn't mean I'm not concerned. Take it easy - it is hard work looking after littlies and you need your energy. Stay away from the scales! In my trawls around the internet looking at the 5:2 for my own curiosity, I'v...

Re: weight loss 2013

Just to encourage you Juzamum - I did my first fast yesterday. Kept busy and didn't feel too bad at all. Was only a bit ratty with the OH as he was late home from work. I was waiting for him and WAS STARVING! No breakfast or lunch just a light 500 cal-ish dinner of mushroom rissotto (light on cheese...

Re: weight loss 2013

Demi - Michael M's website launches tomorrow. http://thefastdiet.co.uk/

He's missed a trick there. You'd have thought he'd have launched it before the book came out.
