Re: befor / after

Re: Washing machine - 40 vs 30 degrees?

dear Mrs D Iam sure your washing is fine.Truly it is just the Boris factor that leads me to want to nuke stuff senseless plus the old fashioned ideas that lurk in my head like mental glue.I remember my Gran washing with wash copper ,dolly tub and mangle. whites were all given a real good work over a...

Badger damage

Our friend Geoff is having problems as are others on the same site, with badgers eating and damaging crops.Any bright ideas to put them off without harming them? are there any smells or stuff they just hate?

Re: Washing machine - 40 vs 30 degrees?

I tried the teatowels ect at 60 and it wasnt a complete sucess, bearing in mind the fact that Boris will use them for mopping up spills on the floor!. So its either 90 wash and it is a full load or boil the things in an old aluminium stockpot to be sure of a result. He is at least putting them straig...

Re: Whats eating my runner bean flowers?

Horneteer you got them bang to rights! the local sparrows aka "the spanners" are an evil gang of avian hooligans. I now feed them in a tree in the front yard in order to distract them from my space and plants. In the 11 years we lived here we concentrated on habitat provision rather than gardening, n...

Whats eating my runner bean flowers?

Prime suspects are a gang of sparrows which busy themselves around the place, the blackbirds proba...

Re: befor / after

The herb planter looks wonderfull too. I have wondered about willow screens as it would be fun to grow a hidey lurky place to read books in peace .how easy are they to manage and keep under control. I could use prunings to weave into windbreaks and reinforce my hedges

Re: Stove Warm Air Heating

Narrow boats have 12v dc so can use a computer fan probably too much of a bother in a house unless you have 12v from solar panel and battery system for some other reason. the stove top fans that work on the heat of the stove shift a fair bit of air and work ok at circulating heat round a boat but wo...

Re: Depressed corgettes

mine have produced small fruits but have failed to expand very much, I was told to expect zeppelins if I didnt keep a sharp eye on them but this has not happened yet in spite of all the rain .they have been fed seaweed extract last week and pelleted poultry poo this week. I am inclined to think that...
