Nicknames

I've been Mandy Moon and then Mandyz Moon (the zed is silent) for years - to the point that many friends actually thought my last name was Moon.

My daughter was nicknamed (by friends) Babyz Moonbeam before she was born and named.

Thanks for the suggestions and links! I'll be bookmarking those and using them as inspiration when shopping around here for my new babe. I instituted a plastic- and battery-free rule for Abigail's gifts, which was mostly respected by gift givers so far. She received many fabulous organic cotton toys...

I'm in agreement that clothes are not intrinsically a Green issue. Neither are they wholly about image - although they can be used that way. They are very practical. As stated, they keep you from sunburns and sticking to furniture in the summer, keep you warm in winter, but also keep you from washin...

I'm inclined to want to shake Fenwoman's hand since we think alike. And I'm under 30. I'm inclined to be honest, but I also listen to the opinions of others. I don't think it has to do with age, but certainly with attitutudes - specifically self-centered attitudes. When the reader/listener only hear...

sorry I missed this discussion

In Canada we have two options - the Diva Cup and the Keeper. Diva Cup is medical grade silicone. This is what I have used for years. Soon, however, I'll have to "upgrade" to the second size after I give birth. (Hmm. I guess I should look into that soon.) The Diva Cup company actually takes...

I'm a Horrid SSish'er

I know. I'm terrible. I keep disappearing. (Who is this non-Margo person writing? you ask) It was another scorching waterless summer of disappointing gardening for me. I've resolved that next year I'm sticking to herbs. They grow fine on the slope. Veggies and so forth on the other hand are a waste ...

photos

Christine, if you're looking to upload photos, there are many websites that allow you to do this for free. Photobucket is one example I am familiar with - but there are many similar sites. If you use these sites, it is very easy to show the pictures here in a bulletin board. Photobucket in particula...

Let's see... Did a good digging on the beds - adding plenty of compost. Moved all the herbs to the one bed around the old tree - where veggies were not growing well but herbs seem to do fine. Planted kohl rabi, broccoli (started earlier inhouse), swiss chard, peas, carrots, lettuces, spinach. Got st...

I've not heard of any of those necessities for compost tea. From what I've learned, it can be as simple as water run-off from your bin (if it is an enclosed bin with holes on the bottom) or water that purposefully had compost soaked in it. I find the excess water that sometimes gather from my vermic...
