I have a problem with eating roadkill. If you understand the anatomy of the animal, then OK, but if you don't have the knowledge to know if the guts are perforated and the meat consequently contaminated by faecal matter, be careful. Cheers, Midori I have eaten road kill, but only if the animal had ...

I used to make p m jewellery commercially, and made some larger show items. I mostly used the pulp method, and for a few items (vases - not for holding water, just show) I used paper strips. I got shredded office paper from banks, insurance people etc. (early 90's - they may be more cautious now, ev...

I believe Shire Publication had a booklet on clog making, but can't find it in their list, could be out of print. Here the website, they may still be able to help, and if you are patient, you may find the title somewhere in the long list, though its not under clogs or wooden shoes. http://www.shireb...

The otherpower website is brill, thanks. Andy, the cycle powered sound system is probably Rinkidink, isn't it? Or similar name. I have used a pedal generator myself, and my own experience backs up Wombat's figure of 1 amp for sustained pedalling. See this thread on the green-trust forum http://www.g...

Ah, but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Have they really conducted a thorough test against different types of tissue, brands, colorants etc.?

All biodegradable with no added pollutants, as long as the tissue isn't coloured. I suspect you probably use recycled non coloured. If you could inhale enough pollutants to worry about the snot, I'd be more worried about your lungs.

Probably negligable amounts of power from a home fire, and steam boilers need to be very strong, and there is the danger of explosions if any pressure relief valve should fail. I'd say, if worth doing at all, its an advanced job, wouldn't tackle it myself. A sterling engine would be safer, but proba...

my guess is that unless you have very short hair, getting enough soap latherred up to wash all of it, is probably quite awkward, a liquid is easier to handle. I have tried in the past to use Ecover washingup liquid, but it dulled my hair, was rather strong, and I would think bar soap would probably ...

Well, a glimmer of hope, but even hybrids have to run of something, and even the cleanest power like renewables require energy and resources in their manufacture, almost certainly non-renewable. A lot of hydrogen is made with hydrocarbon fuel rather than elecrolytically split from water. Electric ve...
